Notarize??

This is for people who are attending an H1 interview for the first time and are based in the US (but travelling to India for the stamp).

Did you have to get any of your documents notarized? I heard from some people that the employment verification letter has to be notarized. I was also planning on getting my bank statements notarized.

Please provide any suggestions

what notary public can certify has to be checked first. In some states, they can only certify the validity of a person's signature.
verification letter on the letter head of the employer should suffice.
you may also get bank statements on the bank's official paper.
