Hi,

I am a new aspirant looking for TN Visa. I completed by bachelors in Instrumentation and Controlling. I did the educational assessment through WES. I have 11 years of experience as Technical Lead. I want to know whether I will be eligible for TN Visa. By the way I am a Canadian citizen/.

Look at the list of eligible TN employment titles
Look at the job descriptions in the Occupational Outlook Handbook
You degree must be directly relevant to whatever job you are hoping to take on

I don't know what specialist positions "Instrumentation & Controlling" is directly relevant for, but I suspect "Technical Lead" is not one of them.

I am working as a Software Senior Consultant . In the same area, I have 11+ years of experience. My bachelors degree has computer subjects as well. Still is it not possible to avail TN Visa. I can apply for the Software Engineer position based on TN visa Occupational List

Software Engineer is not eligible for TN status.
Your current position is fully irrelevant for a TN application.
The only time past experience matters is in a handful of categories where 3 years experience is combined with a 2-year diploma to fulfill the education requirement.
"computer subjects" in your degree usually don't persuade border officers- your actual DEGREE has to be relevant to the category applied for.

Any engineer can have a software engineering position, as long as it is engineering. My first TN was as a software engineer.

Very interesting, thanks for the update.

This should give more hope to others who hope to work in such a position in the USA.

Hello,
I need some info. Me and my wife both having 18+ years of exp in IT.
My background B.E. Mechanical Engg and 19+ Years in IT as an BI consultant. (Individual contributor developer role)
and my Wife's background is B.E. Electronics Engg and 18+ Years in IT as an QA / Scrum Master role.
Can you please help us with the TN letter template that you mentioned?
Also, how about the path to GC especially India born Canadians? Can we really get TN for unlimited extensions so that we can plan our long term stay in the US?

You need to find a good TN lawyer (plenty online) to tailor the letter to your offer and personal background. Both Mech and Electronic Eng are possible for TN.

Nobody on this forum will have good enough of a template for you specifically.

Path for India born Canadian is the same for any India born person in the world - typically very long wait time.

You can get unlimited TN extensions if you are a Canadian citizen, no issue.
