Need to talk to operator at NVC:

Hello:
My I-140 case was approved in Aug 2001 and I opted for
I-485, now my case has been transferred to Baltimore.

Recently I saw my I-140 approved petition from lawyer
and I found that the approval has been sent to NVC
for consular action. I never knew this!

I want to call NVC and find out if my original I-140 petition
is still with them or they had sent to Chennai.
I called this number 603-334-0700 but could never talk
to an operator. What is the trick to speak to a real operator?
Depending on that i can request NVC or Chennai to sent the
original to Baltimore INS.

I had a friend who went to Baltimore and found the original
had been sent to Chennai and had to wait further to get approval.

Try calling around 8 am and ....

you should able to talk to operator ... or enter wrong case number(don't ask which/what?) and it will direct you to the operator.
 
Tyr calling up

Try to call up NVC between 8:00 A.M. and 3:45 P.M. ET. U should be able to get the operator pretty easily unlike any INS service center.
