Need to extend H1-B??

Hello All, My I-140 is approved in June 04. Concurrent filing in Sep 03. I got my AP, second EAD. My H1B expires in Nov 04.
My question is , is it necessary to extend H1B (one year incremental)? I am still with the same employer who applied for my GC.
I heard it is safe..to renew H1B. But, if I change my employer and go on EAD with next employer H1B will not be useful right?

Any advises?
Thanks,
FTG

You do not have to use EAD if you don't want to

FortheGreen,
You don't necessary have to use EAD to go to new employer. You may still transfer H1 to new employer, even your 7th year, if that new employer is willing to sponsor.

But if for any reason you decide to use EAD, then of-course H1 is of no use.

Eric, Thanks for the reply.

I heard it's safe to have H1B status also until I-485 is approved.

Let me know.
Thanks

You are correct!

I checked with my lawyer and he said the same thing. To be on h1
throughout the GC process is safe, according to him.

I know some guys who discontinued their h1's after their six years,
gotten their GC w/no RFE's. Can I say it depends on luck?
