Namecheck status TRUE or FALSE ?

I am sure many of us who have I-485 pending have called USCIS's
emergency line at different times to find out status. If I-485 is pending
on response from FBI, they will tell you that namecheck is pending. In many
cases the online messages changes to "Your application is pending additional
security checks" or "Your application is under detailed review". I recently
called emergency line and was told that my namecheck is pending. However
I got a feeling that the lady who answered the call was trying to find
some excuse to shoo me away. First she asked me if I had called recently,
then she asked me if my FP was done. After sufficient pause she told me
that my application is awaiting namecheck. I somehow felt she just used
that as an excuse to cut me off.

Has anyone else experienced this ?
 
That is entirely possible... A nice lady told me that my namecheck is pending while my wife's namecheck has cleared... exactly two days later a rude person who answered thephone was NOT willing to reveal the status of my application stating that this is a NONemergency issue, with much hesitation he looked at my case status but was still not willing to reveal the current status.
I got into a dialogue with him and in the process he said that my application is pending "something" but its not a namecheck.
Dont know what the heck is happening.

I wish the "name check pending" is an excuse, however, I also heard that if your name check is completed, you will have a LUD on your 485. I never had a LUD before until I called the emergency number. The whole process is really unpredicatable.

Hope_nov - When you called on 29th, did your I-485 got LUD of 03/29/04
and suddenly it changed to 03/30/04 next day ? I guess you did right ?
Even I had both 03/29/04 and 03/30/04 LUDs. I am guessing that may be
a reason when namecheck results were actually put in your file. Let's hope
it that way ..
 
I don't know if my 485 got a LUD on March 29 since I didn't check, but the next day I had a LUD of March 30. Hope for the best. My name is very simple, only 5 letters including both first and last names. That could be a trouble.
 
I got an LUD after I called the emergency number. I was told that my background check is pending. I really have no idea what does that mean. May be its a different name to Name Check !!! The officer wanted to end the phone very quickly so I believe she just threw the idea of more dialogue in the dumps !!!

Have got my 2nd AP and EAD (waiting). Who knows when the 485 approves.

Hi,

After I called emergency number on 03/29, My Lud has changed three times.

03/29, 03/30, 04/01.

Not sure whether name check has been completed or not.

Keeping my fingers crossed.
 
I didn't call emergency number but I called 1-800 number to know about my I-485 status.
Lady asked me about my WAC and told me the status which I can anywayz see from case status. I asked her if my case is stuck in security check and she told my personal file is not with her and she cannot tell anything beyond what I see in case status.
My RFE response on I-485 (birth certificate) was received in mid Januray.
She told me to wait for 30 days and then call again.
I was surprised to know that she could not tell me if my case was stuck somewhere and she actually did not have my personal file.
Well, in that case, what these customer services personal are meant for?

1-800 number is for people who don't have computer and/or don't know about the existence of internet.

If you can read your status on-line and want to know more, use emergency number

Doomed am I ???

I called 1800 number and there has been no lud's and neither after my emergency number enquiry. Am I doomed ????

I called 1-800 number few days back and there is no LUD update.
I haven't called emergency number though till now.

Not necessarily.

My lawyer initiated inquiry on 21st March 05 for I-140 and it got approved
on 1st April 05. Has your lawyer done inquiry lately considering JIT report is way past RD/ND. ?

What does online message say for your I-485 ?

Online message says fingerprints received. I have had no luds for 485 except for the 10/27 mass update. My lawyer is lazy and to get anything done from him is very difficult so never tried getting through to USCIS through him. Anyway will wait for a month and then start bugging him.

So I guess I am not doomed after all !!! There are others who don't have LUDs too.
