name check question

Name check is separate issue and finger print is separate. USCIS generally sends Name Check after you file you I-485 in my case it was May 2003 FBI cleared it for April 2003 filling and finger print notice was issue on January 2004.

This is what I thinki is right assumption, but in my case I had apportunity to talk to an agent at VSC and she told me that Security/Name check gets initiated after PF. What you said make more sence as they are sitting on my I 485 since 08/06/2003. B.T.W how did you find out that you name check was cleared from FBI.

How long is Name check valid

FP is only good for 12-15 months.
I did my first FP in April 2004.
I am scheduled to do 2nd FP in Aug, 2005

My Question is how long does name check good for?
Does name check also expire after a period of time?

My I-485 RD was June 2003
1st FP april 2004

when exactly will service center send the name request to fbi? before or fingerprint is done? I called them and trying to ask if my name check is clear. they told me to send an email to fbi. every time I asked her something, she asked me to hold on for several minute and then tell me nothing. I don't know what she was looking for while I was holding.
