N400 with Medical Waiver

My 78 year old father had a stroke in November and I filed his N400 witht the N648, Medical Waiver.
He was left unable to speak after the stroke. Previously, however, he did not know how to read or write, except to do his simple signature. Now, sometimes he forgets how to sign his name.
Although we had tried previously, he was never able to memorize the civics questions.

So there's a little background on him. For those with experience on this, what kind of interview should we expect with a medical waiver? Will I be allowed to accompany him, since he can not speak?
Any details on a medical waiver interview will be greatly appreciated.

We filed his application two weeks ago, after receiving his acceptance letter, we are awaiting his interview appointment. He does not require fingerprinting due to his age.

Thank you very much for your time and attention.
