I have filed a I-130 for my wife, that was in 1/2008 and it was approved in 10/2008 then they asked about the I864 I send it in 1/2009 I was a co sponser for my wife and in 03/28/2009 the said that they got all the doucuments, in april/09 she got the interview letter and in it they wrotr that they want the most recent tax return is it 2007 tax or 2008 the appointment in may/20, please if you know help me with it.

ya but don't you think " the most recent" is the recent tax once the I864 was executed thats what they wrote in thier web site so in this case its 2007
It can be 2007 if you haven't filed your 2008 taxes yet or filed for an extension.
However, since your interview date is past the Apr 15th(tax filing deadline), its presumed 2008 will be your most recent tax filing year.
