Merry Christmas everyone.
My N400 was approved on Dec 9th and my oath is on Jan 7th. I am excited and a bit nervous. One thought keeps coming to my mind. Will they have my Naturalization Certificate ready? What if they forgot about me? I know all this is silly but is there any chance or time when this has happened to someone. You go to your oath and they don't have your certification? My oath is in White Plains NY

Merry Christmas!
Relax. Relax. Relax. Enjoy this day!

Whatever happens - they will resolve problem. So don't worry. You are done with the most important part - interview and they have aproved your application.

Merry Christmas to you, too.

I had my oath in White Plains on December 17. In case you are interested, here is a brief description:

If you are nervous, you can call the court (I assume it is the location at 111 Martin Luther King Blvd?) and ask them; they may even be able to confirm that you are on the list. While there is always a chance that the USCIS screws up at the last minute, chances are you have made it past the hump, and things should be fine. Are you worried about something in your case in particular or just in general?

IF you are scheduled for oath on the 7th & they dont have your Cert. ready for you, they will at the end of the ceremony, you just have to hang out at the office for few minutes, no biggy. Good luck:D.

If your name will be in their list of applicants to be naturalized on that day then you will be allowed to take the oath even if USCIS won't have your naturalization certificate. In this situation, they will either mail you the naturalization certificate or will ask you to stop by to local office to pick it up. But if (somehow) your name won't be on this list then they will not let you take the oath.

I was scheduled to take the oath but was not given the certificate at the ceremony. After the ceremony, I rushed to the stage to complain and was given the certificante 20 minutes later.

Also there is a successful walk-in oath taken one week earlier at Seattle. See the #693 of the following link
