I need urgent help on this issue:
My geen card has been approved by INS , but my wife has got an RFE -
the INS needs our marriage certificate.
The problem is we have a marriage affidavit issued by a court in India in lieu of a marriage certificate.
My wife used this affidavit so far for all INS purposes (getting H4 visa etc.)
The INS has not yet objected to the affidavit (I still have not sent it).
But I want to know if any body else faced the same situation and the INS was happy with an affidavit in place of an actual marriage certificate.
