hi
I am being laid off by my present employer and i have 2 weeks notice. From the forum threads i understand that my H1b status is void on the last of my employment. In my case i can travel but my wife cannot as she is pregnant. What are the options available? And please someone answer my states and questions listed below.

State 1: Try to get extension with existing employer. Which will not happen, unfortunately.
State 2: Try to file for another H1B, say through some consultant. Should this H1B be approved before the last of my employment?
State 3: Is Filing for a new H1B and receiving the receipt before the last of my employment is enough for maintaining my status?

Question 1: The new h1 be should it be premium or normal processing?
Question 2: If the new h1 is being processed in normal processing what happens when the h1b gets revoked?
Question 3: Is there any amendement in h1b rule for medical conditions as in my case?

Thanks
Vishe

Being pregnant does not prevent travel. How pregnant is she?

Medical requirements of a dependent will not automatically get you a visa. For H1B, you have to have a qualifying job.
