I am currently on a TN visa (Mexican citizen), and I have been with TN since I moved to the US 2 years ago. My company first intended to transfer me from Spain to the USA with a L1, but because I am Mexican the TN was very easy to get, and while in the USA the company petitioned me for a L1, which was initially denied. After an appeal, it was approved, but the validity they are giving me is from January 2013 to July 2014 (just a little over 18 months considering the exact dates).
Is there any reason this might be? This is not a startup.
