L1 in US - moving to Canada

I am currently on L1 visa and would be moving to Canada permanently. On my past visits to Canada, I have noticed that US officials never stopped to check the I94 or visa. Now that I have to move there for good, I am wondering how to submit the I94 to the US immigration officier (I have plans of coming back, which means that properly handing over I94 is vital!!!) Has anyone gone through similar experience?

well, you did not mention your method of traveling. If it's by air, then the airline will take it off before you board as you know. I am assuming you meant by road. in that case you can submit it to the Canadian authority, they later on submit it to the US Authority. If you are to be too sure, you can volunteerily stop by at the US INS office at the border there and return your I-94.

Hope this helps.
