J1 waiver job abruptly terminated by employer

Hello
I was on a J1-waiver position for almost a year when my employer abruptly terminated my contract due to declining patients in pandemic. In termination letter he has cited 3 frivolous incidents - one with staff, one with patient, one with office manager and justified my termination. What are my options now?

He did not pay me productivity bonuses (despite written in contract), did not reimburse state licensing fee and many other wrong doings but I sticked around. I am looking for another job but my attorney said that extenuating circumstance claim for H1-transfer can not be filed since employer has already terminated my contract. He said extenuating circumstance is used then it is termination 'without cause'.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
