Hello! I am a Permanent resident of Canada in US currently on a J1 visa. I am travelling to Canada end of December for visiting family and plan to renew my J1 too. For my J1 renewal, I have to send in some documents to the embassy including a copy of my PR card. Problem is I have recently applied for my PR card renewal and I don’t know how long it will take before I get the card. Current processing times mention about 6 months time on the website. Would the embassy accept a copy of my expired card? Anyone been in this situation before? I tried calling the embassy helpline but the help desk people were not sure either what to do in this scenario.
