I was just told that I can only file for permanent residence for my husband if I am a US citizen. I am currently a lawful permanent resident with green card. Is this true? I am so confused!

Also if this is not true, does anyone know what forms I can file with. My husband currently has F1-20 because he is in school. Also, I will like to get him an EAD. How long does it take to get the EAD?

that is not true

You can file green card for your husband right away(form I-130) I am not sure about the process. But let me tell you that, its going to take a very long time and till such time, he has to maintain his own status.
