Is it too early to renew my card?

My EAD card expires in June. Is that too early to apply for a new card? If I apply now, the new card will be valid from June or simply the date on which USCIS approves my application. Thanks for your help.

No Interim No Ead!! 180 Days

Apply from now, don't wait and take chances, what happen to me may not happen to you, but again why take any chances?here is my story:-
e-filed EAD renewal on july/04/06
august/15/06 they received supporting documentation - as they requested for i-485 application-
i-485 still pending
180 days passed from the original filing date
135 days passed from the date that they received the supporting documentaion
2 INFOPASS appointment- no result-
no more interim EAD
sent letter(s) saying" i-765" outside normal processing time"
called the 800 # and filed for case status inquiry
RFE dec/11/2006(after 5 month from filing!) for special registeration
LUD and e-mail Dec/26/2006 RFE rcvd
LUD Dec/27/2006 (no change to the msg)
NOW WHAT?
they said they need 60 days after they recvd the RFE to decide
I can't wait no more!!
Any help or advice?

Please forgive my ignorance. Does it mean I have to wait within the 180 days of my expiration day to renew it?

And also I would appreciate it if you can answer my second question: does the card start with my expiration date (in June)?

One more question: should I renew my AP as well?

you should renew your EAD 6 month in advance, DON'T TAKE CHANCES
2nd the date of the EAD is totaly up to the officer who is aasigned to your case(no rule)
3rd AP - i HAVE NO IDEA
