Is it mandatory to join company to whom H-1B is transferred to?

I am with company A and have applied for transfer of H-1B to company B. I have now decided not to join B. Can I simply continue working for A? Or do I again need to transfer the H-1B from B to A even though I have never worked for B?Is it mandatory to join company to whom H-1B is transferred to?

you can continue working for company A. and you dont have to notify anybody.
