Folks: I have a petit larceny on my record for shoplifting that happened 8 years back. When I went to my home country to get H1B, I got the H1B visa after a month of delay due to some background check that they wanted to do. All that took about 5 weeks. When I came back to US, I had to get my visa revalidated due get the H1B visa. Unfortunately DOS denied the visa and said that I had to travel outside to get the visa. This is stupid since in India, they said we need to send the file to DOS and in DOS, they deny and ask to travel outside!!
- Do you guys see any issues to obtain H1B visa from canada or should I go to my home country?
- Will this charge of Petit Larceny affect my Green Card process?
Please tell me if anyone has had such an experience or heard of anything relevant to my case.
