Hi Guys,

If we are travelling on AP, and during the stay in India, if your 485 is approved, what will happen at the port of entry when we come back? Do they allow us into country based on Advance Parole?
Please post your experience or your opinion.

Thanks.

Here's my opinion: the INS officer at Port of Entry will check your status in the computer, and he/she may find out that your I-485 has been approved. If you can prove that your departure from the US was before the approval date of your I-485 and your AP is still valid, you will be referred to secondary inspection. At that time, you will receive the I-551 stamp (temporary GC) on your passport.

Nothing would happen to "us" if "we" are traving but "your" 485 is approved. :)

Seriously, nothing would happen as long as the AP is valid and all that...
