I-94 extension - How soon can I apply?

Is there an earliest date by which I can apply for a I-94 extension for my spouse (L2 visa holder)?

I-94 Extension application should reach the USCIS before the I-94 expiry date.

As long as your application for extension of stay reaches the Government Agency on or before the date of expiry of the I-94, your stay is valid until the decision on the extension application.

Generally it is good to apply for extension not more than 30 days in advance.
