I-485 Receipt

Hi, Did anyone who filed his or her I-485 around 4/15/01 receive a receipt from Vermont? I have to travel overseas next month and I am still waiting for a receipt. Thank you!

It used to take about 2 weeks, but now it takes so long. Don\'t understand why it takes them more than a month just to issue a receipt.

Yup, I called IIO , 2 weeks ago, she said we have a back log of mails due to 245(i).

I applied for the I-485 in 5/00 and got a receipt in August!

Wonder if anyone else had a similar experience during that time?

I filed on 4/2 and received the receipt around 4/25. BTW, after receiving the receipt, what\'s best way to travel overseas for emergency(say, in 3 weeks)? It\'s Advance Parole or 3rd Country for H-1B. What are the possible pros and cons? Please help. Thanks.

if its emergency you could get the AP from local INS or something I guess....
