I-485 pending for 17 months

My concurrent I140/485 application was denied in the past because USCIS had mistakenly thought my documents was incomplete. The issue has subsequently been resolved by USCIS. (somehow the 'denied' status was still on record) and I got my I-140 approved in February 2009 and my fingerprint in October 2009. My PD is current.

It has been practically 9 months since my fingerprinting or 17 months since my case was reopened, which I believe is very unusual. I contacted USCIS and they told me that they need longer processing time to review my application since it was once denied in the past (which was their mistake to begin with)
anyone has similar experience?

thanks

Visa

Visitor Visa is a non-immigrant visa issued to people entering U.S. temporarily for business (B-1), or for pleasure/ medical treatment (B-2). These are generally issued for a period of six months, but an additional maximum extension of 6 months can be granted based on the USCIS(INS) approval.
