How to know INTERVIEW DATE??

Folks,

My File/Case was sent to Mumbai consulate yesterday (Sept. 29) according to NVC message. I understand that Mumbai schedules interview dates after a 60 day wait period from the date of receipt of file or the date when Mumbai enters in their system.

I just wanted to ask:

1). Should I call Mumbai to see if they can tell me the interview date in about a weeks time after they have received my file from NVC?

2). Will Mumbai be able to give me an interview date now or would I have to wait for the dates to show up on their website updates (which happen only around 15th of every month for the following month)??

I am thinking that if my interview date is sometime in mid-to-late December, I hope that the consulate can confirm the date now versus me waiting for the Nov 15th website update.

I would appreciate input/feedback.

I think you can expect your interview date in December. Had it been before Sep 20, you could have expected it in November. I would say, wait until October 10, and then call them up to check if you have been scheduled. They should be able to let you know by Oct 10. If you are not scheduled for November, then you can definitely expect it to be in December.

Its a good time to go on vacation :)
 
Call the consulate about 7th of Oct to confirm that they have recd. the case.

If they have, most likely they will tell you call early next month (Nov.) and get the date. You should call the consulate around Nov. 5-7 inquire and most likely will get a date in Dec.

Agree with sansin. It won't be hot and humid like June.

Can you confirm if this is correct set of papers ? any addition/deletion?
My 140 approved in Sep 13th -2004..I think my interview will be in Feb-March-2005

Affidavit of Support? Do you need to show proof of funding like bank balance? Is there a specific amount needed?

If they ask, you have to produce it.

There's no specific balance req. The fact that you are earning (X)XX,XXX at your co. is generally more than enough. But just declare whatever you have.

Could you please let us know..that this list is correct ? Any thing that we need to add/delete based on experience from other people ?
