Hi,
Tried to search the similar question, but couldn't find the detail.
I know I broke residency by staying over 1 year outside of US.
(But had a travel document for 2 year travel before leaving US, so returned safely.)
Now I'm trying to apply based on 4 years and 1 day rule, but kind of wonder how to fill N400 part 9 in my case.
I got my GC: 9/14/2010.
My absence outside US: 12/08/2011 ~ 09/14/2013 (so, returned US at Sep 14 2013)
So as of 03/18/2018, I believe I can apply - based on 4 years and 1 day rule.
In part 9, Time outside the United States,
the first question is asking how many days spent outside US in last 5 years.
- Do I just need to add the days 5 year prior from today? (so count 179 days from 03/18/2013 and 09/14/2013?)
or
- Do I have to count from 12/08/2011? (645 days?)
The third question, it asks when I left US for each trip in the table.
- Does the trip start with 12/08/2011 and 09/14/2013
or
- Does the trip start with the date 5 years from the file date like 03/18/2018 to 09/14/2013?
