How to begin applying for green card 1 year after asylum approval?

I understand that an I-485 is needed. Just wondering if the entire process of submitting I-485 for an asylum-based green card is any different from employment-based.
If, for example, my asylum was approved on 8/1/2020, then when is the earliest date I can mail out my I-485?
Any tutorial on that or a link to such is much appreciated.

it's the same form but the requirements are different. for example there are some requirements that are waived for example like birth certificate if not available. the best source is the USCIS website . just read the i-485 instructions thoroughly and make a list of the requirements based on asylum . you can apply after one year of asylum approval (the date on the i-94/letter of approval) . and i suggest waiting an extra day before mailing just in case you don't get denied for applying early .

read the i-485 pdf instruction in the bottom of the page
