Conversation with IIO ..
I checked with an IIO this afternoon about my case ( OK .. I called after a gap of 2 weeks, so I think I am entitled ) and here\'s the gist of the conversation
Me : Hi, How are you doing ?
She : Good, how are you ?
Me : Could be better ! I\'d like the status on my case, please ?
She: Do you have a receipt number ?
Me : Yes, It\'s EAC-yy-ddd-XXXXX
She : Oh, this case was approved in January \'99 !
Me : Really ? I wonder how cases get approved before the application has been sent in ?
She : What do you mean ?
Me : My application was submitted in September, 1999 !
She : Oh, let me try that number again .. would you repeat it ?
Me : Sure .. EAC-yy-ddd-XXXXX.
She : Oh, yeah .. my mistake .. I saw the wrong entry !
Me : Explains it. What do you see ?
She : You replied to our query on Feb 2, 2001 for request for evidence
Me : Yep, that\'s ancient history !
She : The case has just been assigned to an officer. Infact it was assigned on July 11, 2001.
Me : Huh ? A month ago I was told it was assigned to an officer ..
She : No, it was pending which is not the same ..
Me : Oh .. ok .. don\'t suppose it makes sense to have you speculate on how long it will possibly take ? Do you have your crystal ball around ?
She : laughs and says .. should not take longer than a couple of months ..
Me : Groan !! Whatever .. Thanks for the information
She : No problems
How long do you think my wait is going to be after this conversation ?
