Help: Lawyer mistakely put Consular Process on I140 application....

My I140 just approved. (LC/RIR/EB2/CSC, RD 5/31, approved on 9/14).
But the approval notice says "CONSULATE: ...", also saying that my Visa number is sent to NVC, blah, blah. It seems to me that my lawyer applied my I140 for CP instead of going to service centers. I called him and he said it was fine if we send I485 later to CSC even if I140 is for CP. He said this gave me more flexabilities. But I\'m very doubtful of his remarks.

Please let me know if my lawyer is correct. Is this a common practice for CSC appliers only or those applying other centers also?

Thx!!!!!

It is fine. You can file I-485

If you file I-140 with AOS (485) its difficult to switch to CP. So most of the lawyers does this. Go ahead and file your 485. Good luck

Yes, his/her statement is correct.

You will have a choice to go either for Adjustment of Status or Consular Processing. It is up to you. If it was filed with AOS, it will be more difficult to select CP later.
