Help! F1 to B1 conversion rejected.

My application for B1 was rejected. I was on F1 and applied for a change (I was on CPT, I did not have any OPT left). I had a couple of credits to finish, and so my degree wasn't complete. So they say that I was in violation of my status, and as such was non-admissible. My application for H1 was accepted and is currently in processing.

What can I do to make my status legal again? Will this affect my H1 application? I need advice. Please help.
 
How long do I have before I need to leave? Can I enter the US before October if I go to Canada to have it stamped?
 
You are currently out of status and deportable. Since USCIS has found you are out of status you have also started accruing unlawful presence. You should leave before 180 days of unlawful presence have accrued, otherwise you won't be able to re-enter the US for 3 years.
 
Does this accrual start from the time of the visa expiry, or the time from when I got the letter?
