Has anyone done Indian PP surrender & PIO at the same time at the CGI Houston?

I see that the CGI Houston website doesn't mention about surrendering Indian PP & applying for PIO card at the same time!

I am wondering if anyone has done that with CGI Houston?

The Washington DC website shows this can be done together but CGI Houston doesn't say it explicitly.

Also, if one has to do the surrender, how long does it take to get surrender certificate?

Any information is appreciated.

@cgihouston -- the surrender takes 6-8 weeks (its hard work putting a cancelled stamp on the passport you know ..). don't know about PIO - the OCI its been 3-4 months, and they still haven't acknowledged our application itself. Tried getting a entry visa, and thats not any better -- its been sitting in the consulate for 2 weeks now.
 
Thanks for the reply. Tell me one thing, did you apply OCI & Surrender Certificate at the same time (in the same envelope)? Are they accepting it that way?
 
no did it separately. OCI is taking a very long time -- might want to do it separately just in case you need to apply for a entry visa for travel while its under process.
