Has anybody recently travelled to Mexico border from Texas for New TN or TN renewal?

Looking for suggestions :
1. Is Mexico border open for Canadian Citizens for VIsa renewal or new TN issue? Is it considered Essential?
2. Which border is safer to travel to from Plano, TX.
3. what's the experience of travelling to the Border? what are the things to be careful for? both from travel, safety and visa issue experience point of view.

I recently crossed from Tijuana with a TN application.

Check the POE schedules. The hours have changed thanks to covid.

Work is considered an essential purpose. Others have reported no problem making their TN applications.
