H4 to F1 Premium Processing

Hi,

My wife is holding a H4 visa and is currently doing her MS. We want to apply for a COS to F1 for her to be able to do OPT. But we came to know that the current processing times for COS are 5-6 months.

We do not want to wait that long for COS.

Is there a premium processing available for H4 to F1 change of status?

If there is one available, how to apply for that?

I found out that I-539 is to be used to do a COS from H4 to F1.

Please let me know ASAP if you know the asnwers.

Though there is no premium process for H4 to F1, the H4 to F1 transfer doesn't take that much time. It takes 2-3 months. My H4 to F1 transfer was approved in 16 days when the USCIS website was showing that it will take 2-3 months for the processing. So it depends on when you are applying. I applied mine in August 2005.
Other option is to travel outside and enter on F1. If approved, your wife will get her F1 the same day.
