H2b SSN valid for any field of work?

Does anyone know if an H2B visa holder's SSN is valid for any employer during their stay in the U.S. or can their SSN only be used with their sponsoring employer? For instance, would obtaining additional employment in an unrelated field raise a red flag and prohibit the other employer from employing the H2B holder?

Even though you get a Social Security Number from a Company Sponsor, you can use that to any employer. You can speak to the immigration attorney for professional advice.

Many thanks.

My understanding is that an H2B visa holder's SSN card would be restricted, and on the card written the words:
"Valid for work only with DHS authorization". Is this correct and if so would every visa holder's SSN card also be restricted?
