Hello,
I am applying for H1 to L1 conversion. Need to know what conversion means:
- Is it like canceling H1 petition and applying for new L1A
- Or is it like using same petition number of H1 and filing L1A.
Sorry if i am confusing but thing is, i have my H1 approved in 2011 and moved to US in 2013. Current Visa is valid till 2013 year end. Now if i am changing status to L1, can i apply for H1 in cap exempt in next 3 years. I have heard that H1 can be re-applied in cap-exempt in a period of 6 years starting from when first petition was approved.
So question is if i move to L1 (change of status) can H1 be applied in cap exempt in the 6 year period? Or my H1 is void and i need to file a fresh H1 in future if i need one?
