I was a part of the layoff on sept 15 with an approved H1B COS visa and the company sent the notice that I do not work for them before Oct 1. My new employer suggested I go back to F1 Student visa since I have 20 months until my STEM OPT EAD expires. The school DSO said that I should get the official notice from USCIS regarding my H1B visa withdrawal and then they can do the data fix in my SEVIS. Do you have an idea about the timeline when I would get that notice?
Additionally, if I do not get the notice before 60 days grace period will it be officially terminated and then can I go back to F1 Visa? Please help me out with this.
Is there any way where I can expedite the process of getting the notice?
