H1B revalidation

Hello CP'ers -

I have a question about H1 revalidation with consular processing in mind.

I am on H1 - 4th year in progress and have been employed with the same company since day 1. My first 3 year H1 visa was stamped at Mumbai consulate. My labor cert has been approved and have applied for I-140 with Consular Processing. My H1 was extended in Feb'03 but I did not get my passport stamped with the revalidated visa.

I am expecting my Consular interview in July-Aug 2005. Will it be a problem if I do not have a stamped H1 on my (and family) passport. Is there any risk, If I do not have the renewed H1 visa stamped on my passport?

Any feedback is welcome.

Hi B,
You better check that as far I know you need to get your new visa stamped within one year of the expiry of the old one.

I am not talking for CP but to stay in US. And the new rule has come down that you need to get it stamped in your home country no more stamping in DOS.

You better check the thread for H1B Quota issues in this forum.

Thanks
