Hi Guys,
Here is the H1b processing trend at Vermont Service Center last year (2004).
(Source : http://aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=12631)

Reported-Date -- Processing Receipt of
5/6/2004 --> 04/19/2004
5/19/2004 --> 04/19/2004
6/4/2004 --> 04/22/2004
6/23/2004 --> 04/22/2004
7/12/2004 --> 04/22/2004
7/21/2004 --> 04/22/2004
8/10/2004 --> 04/22/2004
8/18/2004 --> 08/02/2004
9/17/2004 --> 08/09/2004
10/6/2004 --> 08/26/2004
10/21/2004 --> 08/09/2004

So guys, if we see the trend of last year, VSC was processing the receipts of 22nd April 2004 on 4th June 2004. It was still processing the forms of 22nd April 2004 on 10th August. But suddenly, on 18th August, it was processing the petitions of 2nd August 2004. And there after it processed at normal speed.

This year (2005) also we are seeing that it's still processing the petitions of 16th April. And since h1b final receipt date was 10th August 2005, hopefully backlog will be over by end of August and there after it will process normally.

So just chill guys and sing just chill, chill, just chill.......

Nice

hey Rudra...Thanks man for the nice info...My receipt date is 6th april & still waiting for approval...Any Idea if the applications get processed with in the max time period of 150 days????

Re : nice

Yes, it will definitely be processed within the prescribed time i.e. in between 90 days to 150 days. People who have applied very late i.e. in July-August, will be little lucky as their forms will be processed evern before 90 days. So just don't panick.

Particularly in your case, I think it should have been processed by now but they wouldn't have updated the status.

Thanks Rudra

Thanks Rudra for your prompt reply. Its good to know that the approval will come soon...Actually its very frostrating to wait for the approval...Good that through this forum we are getting a bit mental relif...What is your receipt date? & where exactly ru going to work in US? R U in to IT or some other field?

Thanks again for a nice & confident message from you...

I just checked the USCIS site & they are saying that 29558 cases are still pending...Do you think INS guys can process all these cases with in these 15 days???

Hi Guys,

On random checking of the EAC numbers i came across a case whose H1b fresh case was approved around July-mid timeframe so looks like VMC is processing H1B's but just not updating the site. Cant say why ?

Here's the info posted for the approval:
Application Type: I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On July 15, 2005, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Hope that brings some relief.
Do we have any info such as when is the next update going to happen. From the posts done on this forum it looks like 22nd is the next probable date. Is it a mere guess work or is there a rational logic behind this date ?

The h1b petition which you checked need not be new h1b petition. It might be for "Change in status in US" or "Extension of stay in US". These are also considered under I-129.

So we can't be sure that VSC has started processing the h1b for fresh candidate.

To be sure, if VSC has started processing the fresh h1b, pick a random petition number around 20th April and which has not been processed. Check it's status regularly and if is processed, then we can be sure that it has been processed.

Now how to pick a random 1-129 peition number.
See EAC is for Vermont Service Center. The first two digit is definitely 05. The next three digit is working day starting from 1st Oct 2004. So for 20th April the petition number starts like EAC05140..... followed by five more digitst. So just add five more which is similiar to your peition number..

Best of luck.. Wish me also best of luck.. I am also waiting for my petition..
