I'm actually with a J1 visa expiring by the end of this year and I got a waiver for the 2-years residence requirement last year. My employer, a cap-exempt institution, ask for an H1B visa for me using the regular processing. This visa should begin on Nov 15 2009.
Some questions:
1) Is it true that the processing time for H1B is 2 months for regular processing?
2) If I receive an approval notice in 2 months (if granted, of course), the H1B1 takes effect immediately or it is valid after Nov 15?
