H1b extenstion (need urgent help)

Until yesterday, I did not reailze that my h1b will expire in the end of August. If my employer files my h1b extension tomorrow, will I be able to get the receipt before the expiration date(8/31)? If not, what options do I have in order to keep working?

Forget about the receipt but must file the extension before expiry of your current H-1B. Remember this rule and have a good sleep, phew!

Thank you very much for your reply! immiq, HR has not received the receipt from uscis after mailing it on Aug.16. If the application was returned due to some errors, would it be a problem for me? All my other USCIS application receipts were mailed back within a week. Do you think it might be any problem for this one?
