I am currently on H1 visa (4.5 years) after completing my Masters. I would like to convert to F1 visa to start my Ph.D program (with fellowship). I have not applied for GC.
I prefer to go to India to get a new F1 visa. Is it advisable to do so?
Also, I am married and my husband is on H1 (but hasn't applied for GC). Does that show I "intend to immigrate"?
And, will the visa be approved easily if the Ph.D admit is from a reputed university (Stanford)?
