H1-B holder planning for marriage to GC holder

I am currently on H1-B and planning to get married to GC holder. I have two questions...

1. If marriage takes place in US and immediately after that can I visit to India. During my stay if I get laid off, can I come back to Us with some another status (like V1 visa)?

2. If marraige takes place in india, what is the way of coming back to US? Can I get V1 visa?

Can one get the work authorization on V1 visa to work in US?

Your spouse as a PR can sponcer you for a green card. The only problem is that it takes about 4 years to get such an application approved.

besides the fact that if you go out of status you will be an illlegal resident in the country.

Do visit the INS site or the state department site to learn more on the V visa. (I don't think you are eligible for that visa)
