We petitioned for adjustment of Status for parents when they were here (I-485). After more than one year, they got their interview scheduled but father was hospitalized the day before the interview and diagnosed with terminal brain tumor (advanced stage). They could not attend interview and USCIS was advised over phone about their inability to attend the interview. Parents have now left for India to spend his final days there. Now, there is no need for pursuing the application of father. Is there any way to convert the adjustment of status petition of mother alone to consular processing. If not possible, can she abandon her pending Green card application and apply for Non-Immigrant Visa again? She has no one to take care of her there in India.
