Got an RFE

Here is what I got on May 21, 2004: On May 21, 2004, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case. The notice explains in detail what additional material is needed. If you have questions about the notice, what is required, or if 14 days have passed and you have not received the notice, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.
I do not know what it is about? I am doing the same type of job with the same company, only I become contract instead of permanent. Will the salary change be a problem? Should I call USCIS to find out what this RFE about?

Any reponse or help is appreciate.
