The Embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce that there is no longer an extended waiting period for appointments for nonimmigrant visa interviews at the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai. The Embassy is therefore ending the special procedures it adopted this summer that allowed applicants from southern India to apply in person for visas at either the U.S. Consulate General in Calcutta or the Embassy in New Delhi. This change in procedure will take place with immediate effect. Those who have alaready booked an interview through TT Service for either Calcutta or New Delhi may still attend, provided it has been scheduled for a date prior to September 30, 2003. "
