Happy Thanksgiving Holidays for all the Immi members.

I have a question about privileges for a GC holder. Does GC gets any additional benefits in the home country?

For example if the GC holder commits a crime in his home country is he punishable under US laws or his home country

Any inputs are welcome.

Thanks

I think I understand your question.

I don't think is there any for GC.
When you become a US citizen and you won't have a dual citizenship (not dual citizenship is very important) you can be protected in for the US embassy in your home country up to certain extent. If you keep dual citizenship the US embassy can not protect you at all because being a citizen from that country you are bound to their laws and penalties. If you are only a US citizen you have to obey the laws but you can have some protection.

This does not mean you are above the law just because your citizenship.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Crimes commited by USA PRS outside USA may not
be subject to US criminal laws unless US interests
are involved, but I think they still affect your
inadmissibility/deportability for your PR status and
eligibility for citizens.
