Hi,

I have GC for over a year. I'm not employed, and never had any job. My current occupation is student. My parents support me. I have credit card and savings in bank. I don't have any regular income, just money in the back to pay for classes. I'm just curious. Do i have to pay taxes? If yes, what forms do i need to use? Any help is appreciated.

how old are you?

if you are 19-23 years old as a full time student, u can be filed with your parants' tax return.

I would say that you do nt necessarily have to pay taxes, but you have to file a tax return.

If your worldwide ( GC holder ) income is less than somehing like 8k$, then you do not pay taxes. But, as a GC holder, it is advisable to still file a return.

If you have savings in abank, you hopefully made some interests. You should have received a form 1099 INT.

Also, be careful : if you have an assitantship from your school, the rules on taxation might differ between federal and state taxes.

As a GC holder, never file form of the 1040NR series : NR stands for Non-resident.
1040EZ ( EZ is for easy : simpler form than the regular 1040 ) would be easiest to use.
