I am curious to know how asylees are different from refugees and what distinction (if any) is made in the US immigration law between these two cases.

I know the answer too so i will reply..even though Gilbert is the boss!!

Refugees are those that are settled into the U.S from abroad...probably through United Nation Resettlement or Local Church Group. They DO NOT count against any limitation Quota of 10,000 per year..Hence their Adjustment date processing in year 2001.

Asylees are those enter U.S and then claim a refugee status & are given asylum. They are under the 10,000 quota for adjustment of status.

Why would you want to know about this?
