Food Stamps and Citizenship

Hello,
im applying for my N-400 and I have one major concern. i received my permanent residence via marriage in 2012 but before that when I didn’t have a status and my daughter was born in 2010 I filed for WIC and food stamps for her and my husband who is a US citizen. We received food stamps on and off for about two to three years mostly until my daughter was a toddler she’s now nine. I’m worried about this being that we were on food stamps when I didn’t have a status and after I had a status in 2012 but I never lied. Should I worry? It’s been years since we have had food stamps.

Should not be an issue at all. I don’t even think there is a food stamps/public charge related question on the N-400 form. This can be an issue during some types of adjustment of status but in any case, you applied in your daughter’s name who is a USC and not yours. I wouldn’t worry.
