Hello,
I am a PhD student in my final year. During my first year as a PhD I filed for asylum and my case is pending. I do not want to use my OPT EAD (not even going to apply for it) but want to use my asylum EAD instead (going to apply for it soon but NOT going to use it until I finish my studies). Would using my EAD based on asylum pending after finishing my studies affect me in the future? For instance, would that violate F1 even though I finished my studies? Would that cause issues if my asylum gets approved and then I want to get my permanent residency?
