F1 to J1

Hi all, have a general question about F1-converted J1 HRR waiver. Need urgent reply. Thanks very much in advance.

Am a US-trained PHD, currently working for a government agency on my OPT. Some obstacle came up during H-1B application so I am left with 2 options: accept a J1 or change job. :mad:

Question: will my J1 be subject to HRR as well? Is the waiver from home country required before INS (or whatever the new name is) can issue the waiver? :confused:

Consider changing your F-1 to J-1 visa as the last option.

Switching jobs is certainly a better proposal than to change to J-1 as it involves circuitous process.

Stand head over heals and try to change your Job.
